CDW confirms third year of support for history-making racing driver

Sponsorships 18 March, 2024

For the third year running, CDW UK is confirming its support of one of our very own employees in his efforts with Team BRIT – the world’s only competitive team of all-disabled racing drivers.

Once again, we are proudly sponsoring our IT Solutions Specialist Aaron Morgan, who is the team’s most experienced driver.

Since 2015, the team has grown into one of the most influential bodies in disability racing, creating a ladder of accessible motorsport opportunities for disabled drivers.

Aaron, who broke his back in a motocross accident when he was just 15, has been a driver with the team since 2021, and has raced at tracks all over Europe, honing his skills as a GT4 racing driver. With CDW’s support, he has confirmed his entry in the British Endurance Championship alongside teammate Paul Fullick, with the pair vying for an all-out championship victory. Paul and Aaron will drive the team’s McLaren 570S GT4, which is equipped with the team’s world-leading hand control technology, enabling them to compete equally with able-bodied drivers.

Whilst supporting Aaron’s individual racing progression, we have also been proud to support the wider team in recent years too. In 2023, we provided hardware for a state-of-the-art trackside data station and modern back-office workspace.

The data station provides the team with a comprehensive view of each driver’s performance in the car and multiple data streams for the team’s engineers to monitor.

Aaron has played a major part in the team’s history-making success. With his teammate Bobby Trundley, the pair were the first all-disabled team to compete in the British GT Championship in 2022. They went on to compete in the inaugural McLaren Trophy Series Europe last year, where they took class podium positions at some of Europe’s most iconic tracks.

This season begins with Winter testing in Portugal in February before racing kicks off with round 1 at Donington Park on the 29th of March.

Paul and Aaron will be eyeing an all-out championship victory, whilst four of their teammates compete in the championship’s sister series, the Britcar Trophy.

Aaron said: “CDW’s decision to support me in this way helps confirm their position as a global leader in accessibility and innovation, which aligns perfectly with the values and ethos of Team BRIT.  We’re able to compete on equal terms because we have broken boundaries with technology and used innovation to enable inclusion. Having CDW’s technical solutions behind us in the garage brings all of this together and ensures we have the best possible setup.

“2024 is set to be a fantastic year. Paul will be a brilliant partner in the McLaren, and with our combined experience, determination and passion, I knew we’ll be a force to be reckoned with.

“I’m also looking forward to supporting our rookies and drivers coming up the ranks, who have just started out in their motorsport careers.  We want to bring as many disabled drivers into the world of motorsport as possible.”

Carl Lawton, VP & CTO for CDW UK & International, also said: "As we embark on our third consecutive year supporting Aaron Morgan racing for Team BRIT, we are proud to continue championing accessibility and innovation in motorsport.

Our sponsorship exemplifies our commitment to breaking boundaries and fostering inclusion, and we remain committed to supporting Aaron racing for Team BRIT, and their aspirations of nurturing the next generation of talent, ensuring that motorsport remains open and accessible to all.

Here's to another year of pushing boundaries, inspiring others, and winning together."

"Having CDW’s support for the third year running is an incredible privilege. I feel humbled to receive such backing from my employer – having the belief and support of a global organisation is amazing, and from a personal perspective, it means an awful lot."
