Case Study Overview

Medigold Health's development team – which was growing and becoming geographically diverse – needed to access its cloud-based environments quickly and securely, whilst adhering to industry compliance requirements. Meanwhile, a second community of customer-facing clinical users were beginning to work in an increasingly dispersed manner, requiring secure remote access to a range of office tools, applications and databases.

CDW, as a Microsoft Azure Expert MSP holding the WVD Advanced Specialisation, proposed Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) as the most suitable technology solution for the customer's needs. Having initially introduced Medigold Health to the capabilities of WVD through an introductory webinar, CDW went on to perform a proof of concept for an environment built around desktop images specifically configured for the development and user-based individuals.

The deployment of WVD was completed within just a couple of weeks, and it has transformed Medigold Health’s remote capabilities. Development teams have secure access to all necessary resources, no matter where they are in the world. Customer-facing employees, meanwhile, are no longer required to keep any data on their portable devices. Instead, users simply log on through WVD while at client sites and find the information they need, without having to store data remotely.
