Intel and CDW Enhance Help for Heroes' Tech Capabilities

Partners 22 Jan, 2025

CDW is excited to announce a collaboration with Help for Heroes, the UK’s leading veteran charity. CDW, along with Intel and HPI, is committed to supporting the charity’s critical work through AI-integrated technology and specialised training.

CDW, in partnership with Intel and HPI, is donating over 85 Intel® Core™ Ultra HP devices to support the AI for Citizen curriculum. This equipment will enable Help for Heroes to advance its mission of helping veterans live well after service. The integration of AI will improve efficiency, enhance the beneficiary journey, and enable veterans to build valuable skills and knowledge in AI, a crucial area in today’s digital landscape.

This partnership reflects CDW’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant and its mission to support veterans, reservists, and their families. In addition to the new AI-integrated equipment, the partnership provides Intel’s online specialist AI training for veterans and Help for Heroes staff. This training will offer valuable education in this innovative field, helping veterans transition to new career paths after their service.

The partnership was launched at Help for Heroes' head office in Downton with a training day led by Intel, providing staff with insights and hands-on experience in AI technology.

James Needham, CEO of Help for Heroes, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating: “As a charity, we are eager to use every tool at our disposal to provide the best support we possibly can for our beneficiaries. With this increase in our technological capabilities, we can be even more efficient and agile as a charity, ultimately allowing us to help more veterans and their families. We are incredibly grateful to CDW and their partners Intel and HP for their commitment to ensuring veterans can live well after service.”

Nick Garland, Head of Defence and Secure Government at CDW, commented: “Advancing digital equity is at the core of our Social Impact strategy at CDW. Through this partnership, we are delighted to provide access to technology and the necessary training, benefiting the veterans, staff, and volunteers of this incredible charity. By equipping Help for Heroes with cutting-edge AI-integrated devices and specialised training, we hope to empower more veterans to transition smoothly into civilian life and thrive in new career paths.”

Help for Heroes champions the Armed Forces community and helps them live well after service. The charity supports veteran families from any branch of the UK military – regulars or reserves – and locally embedded civilians (and their families) who worked under the command of UK Armed Forces. To date, the charity has supported more than 31,000 people and remains committed to ensuring every veteran receives the support they deserve.
