CDW UK awarded a place on the GCA's Framework RM6393

Company News 8 Jul, 26

CDW UK is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a place on the Government Commercial Agency's (GCA, formerly Crown Commercial Service) Framework RM6393 Tactical Communication Systems, across Lots 1, 2 and 3. The appointment gives public sector and defence buyers a single, trusted route to specialised tactical communications, spanning the full framework.

What is RM6393?

RM6393 is a new open framework, established under the Procurement Act 2023, giving central government and the wider public sector a compliant route to buy specialised, military-grade tactical communication and information systems, spanning hardware, software, and the associated design, implementation and support services. It is available to organisations across central government and defence, blue-light services, health, education, local authorities, devolved administrations and charities.

A place across all three lots

Our appointment covers the framework's full scope:

  • Lot 1 (Services): through-life support, field support, training and system sustainment, plus architecture design, system integration, and test and evaluation.
  • Lot 2 (Systems): rapid deployment of secure mobile information and communication services, from complete system solutions to pre-integrated, vehicle-mounted and handheld packages.
  • Lot 3 (Components): the hardware and software building blocks, including user-facing and core applications, training-platform, data-security and service-management infrastructure, that combine into complete solutions.

Proven delivery: QUICKSILVER

This appointment builds on CDW's proven track record in operational tactical communications. Following the successful development of the QUICKSILVER network for a Government customer, we bring real, in-service delivery experience to the framework. QUICKSILVER is an operational network that supports the British Army's user community. Designed, managed and created by CDW alongside MoD policy, it delivers a cutting-edge tactical communications network like no other in service today.

What it means for public sector buyers

Being appointed across Lots 1, 2 and 3 means CDW can support buyers end to end, whether they need a single component, a fully integrated system, or ongoing services and support, through one trusted, framework-compliant partner with a proven track record in operational tactical communications. The first framework period runs from 26 June 2026 to 25 June 2029.

“We are proud to have been awarded places on all three lots of the Tactical Communications Framework, building on the successful development of our QUICKSILVER tactical communications network for a Government customer. QUICKSILVER is an operational network that supports the British Army's user community. Designed, managed and created by CDW alongside MoD policy, it delivers a cutting-edge tactical communications network like no other in service today.”
