CDW Secures MoD Contract to Support RAF Poseidon Digital Infrastructure

Company News 3 Jun, 26

London, UK – Wednesday, 3 June 2026 – CDW UK & International (UK&I) today announced that it has signed a new service support contract with the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) to enhance the digital infrastructure underpinning Royal Air Force Poseidon MRA Mk1 operations. The agreement covers AirCHAN (Air Content Hosting and Access Network), a critical end‑to‑end information management system that enables the rapid processing and sharing of intelligence collected during maritime patrol missions.

AirCHAN provides part of the digital backbone that supports submarine tracking, maritime surveillance, and search and rescue. The system ensures that crews operating at the tactical edge can use operational data in a resilient secure environment and access, manage, and disseminate high quality Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) data at speed.

The RAF’s Poseidon MRA Mk1 fleet plays a central role in UK national security, from locating adversary submarines and monitoring naval activity in the North Atlantic to supporting search and rescue operations. These missions rely on a dependable flow of timely and accurate data. As the RAF continues to modernise its digital capabilities, CDW will deliver the service management and technology support required to keep AirCHAN operational and mission‑ready.

Nick Garland, Head of Secure Government at CDW, said:
"CDW is pleased to support the Royal Air Force’s principal maritime patrol capability through our technology and service expertise. As reliance on digital systems grows across defence operations, the MoD continues to advance its capabilities in support of national security. We are proud to contribute to this critical mission environment."

Toby Milwright, Poseidon Strategic Connectivity Lead for the Royal Air Force, said: "AirCHAN is a vital element of the Poseidon enterprise. Royal Air Force crews and analysts depend on fast, accurate and reliable data to carry out their missions, often in demanding conditions. The support provided through this agreement ensures we can continue to deliver timely intelligence to decision makers and maintain the high operational standards expected of the Royal Air Force."
