CDW has reinforced its position as a sustainability leader in the technology sector after achieving a Gold Medal rating from EcoVadis, the world’s largest and most widely used corporate sustainability assessment platform.
The 2026 assessment places CDW in the top 5% of more than 100,000 companies evaluated globally. CDW has also retained EcoVadis’ prestigious Carbon Leader status, a distinction held by fewer than 1% of organisations worldwide.
Under EcoVadis’ updated comparative scoring model, CDW achieved an overall score of 79 out of 100, representing a 33% improvement over the past three years. The result reflects sustained investment and progress across environmental, social and ethical performance.
CDW’s strongest performance was in the Environment pillar, where it scored 92 out of 100, placing the organisation in the top 1% globally. EcoVadis cited CDW’s best in class decarbonisation commitments, actions and reporting capabilities as key drivers of this result.
Founded in 2007, EcoVadis assesses sustainability maturity across 28 indicators spanning four pillars: Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Its evidence-based methodology aligns with international standards including the Global Reporting Initiative, the UN Global Compact and ISO 26000.
CDW has used the EcoVadis framework since 2018, initially to benchmark its sustainability performance and subsequently as a catalyst for continuous improvement across its UK operations.
“We are defining, designing, and delivering programmes that address both near‑term intervention and long‑term transformation, relentlessly pursuing greater impact" said Jon Steggles, Sustainability and Social Value Manager at CDW. “Our 2026 rating reflects the impact of those programmes and our commitment to a purpose‑led, performance‑driven journey.”
The latest assessment highlighted year on year progress across multiple areas:
• Labour and Human Rights: 7% improvement
• Ethics: 13% improvement, increasing the score to 87 out of 100
• Environment: Maintained leadership with a score of 92 out of 100 and continued Carbon Leader recognition
EcoVadis also identified opportunities for CDW to deepen collaboration with supply chain partners on next generation decarbonisation solutions, reinforcing the company’s focus on driving impact beyond its own operations.
