Sponsorship expands CDWs support of employee Aaron Morgan to encompass full Team BRIT in 2022
After almost two seasons of sponsoring CDW IT Solutions Specialist and motor champion Aaron Morgan, CDW has extended its partnership to become the Official Partner of Aaron as well as the Official Technology Partner of Team BRIT. This means, CDW will sponsor Aaron and the broader Team BRIT to enter the British GT Championship in 2022, which is one of the most respected and hotly contested GT championships in Europe.
"Unlike nearly all other competitive sports, Team BRIT race drivers compete against teams of able-bodied drivers, which is a wonderful example of equal opportunity and overcoming challenges. It takes exceptional talent, commitment, tenacity and grit which reflects so much of what we value at CDW. We are extremely proud to be sponsoring Aaron and the rest of Team BRIT in this year’s GT Championship and we look forward to supporting them as they continue on their journey to make racing history and become the first British all-disabled team to compete at the world-famous Le Mans 24-hour endurance race." - Jonathan Eyton-Williams, Director, Integrated Technology & Partner Alliances at CDW UK.
After kicking off the season on Saturday 12th March where Aaron’s teammates competed in the British Endurance Championship and the Britcar Trophy we are excited to support Aaron’s first race on Monday 18th April at Oulton Park. There he will be driving a custom fitted McLaren 570S GT4 which allows him, as a paraplegic, to take the next step and compete on a level playing field through the use of Team BRIT’s world leading hand controls.
"This year marks a turning point for me, I was 15 when I lost the use of my legs, now 15 years have passed, and I’ve gone from racing motorbikes to racing a custom fit McLaren in the highest level of GT racing. It’s exhilarating and incredibly rewarding and I’m grateful to have had the support of sponsors like CDW on this journey. It’s great that this sponsorship can now be accessed by the broader team." – Aaron Morgan.
The full team including Bobby Trundley, Andrew Tucker, Luke Pound, Chris Overend, Tyrone Mathurin, Paul Fullick, Anji Silva-Vadgama and James Whitley share Aaron's goal to make racing history and take the team to the world famous Le Mans 24hr endurance race, becoming the first ever British all-disabled team to do so.
"The support of our sponsors is crucial in helping us further our work on accessibility in motorsport. Having CDW as the official technology partner makes all the difference for the team and what we can achieve." - Team BRIT Commercial Director Mike Scudamore.
Through our sponsorship, we are proud to help Team BRIT in their mission to create equal opportunities for people with physical and psychological disabilities to compete in motorsport using the help of technological innovation to do so. From race victories to podium finishes, we’ve enjoyed following Aaron's success over the past two years, and we are excited to follow the progress of the wider team in 2022.
